About me

Hello. It takes courage to reach out for help and I acknowledge you for taking this step to take care of yourself. I am a licensed mental health counselor in Massachusetts with 26 years of clinical experience. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, relational, and client-centered. I draw from my clinical experience and skills, deep listening, encouragement, compassion, and intuition to help clients achieve their growth. I believe in the inherent capability of each client to change in the ways that are important for their well-being. The approaches I utilize include family systems theory, grief counseling, psychodynamic, humanistic, Rogerian emotionally focused, spiritually focused, as well as expressive modalities including writing and role playing. Therapy assignments and a variety of supportive resources can be provided to help clients strengthen their progress in their daily lives. The integration of psychotherapy and spirituality is an acknowledged and expanding field in mental health and one which I support. I welcome clients who would like to incorporate their spirituality into their process of therapy. I have helped clients address grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life and career transitions, communication problems, and healing from family of origin dysfunctional patterns, including emotional abuse. I am not licensed to treat addictions. If you have any concern about having an addiction, for example to food, alcohol, street drugs, prescription pills, pornography, sex, gambling, internet/gaming, marijuana, or any other suspected addiction, please find another counselor who is licensed to treat addictions. Also please be aware that problems with addictions may be better addressed with in-person treatment than with an online platform. I do not treat sexual trauma or eating disorders, which may also be better addressed with in-person treatment.
