Therapy can often be a daunting and scary process for individuals. “What if my therapist doesn’t understand me? Does this mean I have a problem? What if it doesn’t help?” I aim to provide a nurturing, nonjudgmental, compassionate, and supportive environment to support you with all the difficulties life may throw in your path. I like to use a multi-faceted approach tailored to the unique needs of YOU and to best help you with whatever you are struggling with. I believe that change happens when one is given the guidance to draw on your own strengths and realize your potential to live a fulfilling, happy life. I integrate various models of therapy throughout my work including (but not limited to): person-centered, a “here-and-now” approach focusing on present feelings, developmental, strengths-based, and mindfulness techniques. I have been a practicing psychotherapist in New York City for over 10 years and have recently moved to Hawaii. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Hawaii and New York, with a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a dual Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Social Work from New York University. I also hold a certification in Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Finally, I am a registered, certified Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor.
