My passion for counseling psychology, intertwined with a formalized education have been necessary to develop the awareness needed as a skilled therapist. Clinical intuition & self-discovery through experience have naturally resulted in what I believe to be my own fundamental purpose as a healer. In addition, my devotion to motherhood, commitment to faith and my belief in the power of recovery-have combined to enhanced an already strong intuition. I believe this outcome is my divine purpose. I am grateful & overjoyed to have celebrated ten years of sobriety the past November of 2024. I believe my own recovery improves my ability to help those suffering in active addiction. My personal experience is vital as I help clients locate their chosen path to healing. Most clients naturally gravitate to my intentional transparency. Helping clients focus on their own self-discovery is a journey of partnership that involves a gentle balance of grace and respect. As a practitioner, I prefer my individual experience be separate and secondary to client needs. More than 15 years ago, I discovered my dream to formalize leadership of therapists through licensure. This intensified my own love & commitment to the field of counseling psychology. I am honored to mentor clinicians through my role as a clinical supervisor, as they practice therapy with my license while they finalize licensure certification. My partnership with Betterhelp allows me to use a collaborative approach as an independent practitioner. I contract with more than one organization, allowing variety and flexibility. I choose to have small caseloads which allows me the ability to commit to individual needs & the well-being of each client I have pre-selected. This is a process I am able to customize and ensure therapeutic trust. Most notable feedback from former clients: I am attentive, nurturing, flexible, knowledgeable and direct in my communication. I find that my ability to provide authenticity is fundamental to my identity as a human being, just as transparency underlies all healthy attachment in relationships. My theoretical style has evolved over many years of formal practice & training. I continue to seek most proficient training available, and hold special skill using these techniques: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness & Internal Family Systems. Solution-focused CBT, TF-CBT. Only trauma-informed skills are used as I continue to absorb all opportunities to embrace current understanding in trauma-specific techniques. With specialized understanding in trauma recovery, I believe that we all have the ability to heal. Only you hold the power to transform your life. This directly requires accountability, openness and honesty. Responsibility for your healing is fundamental to this process. My role in this partnership is equal to the value of client effort! I provide support, validation and accountability, just as I enforce and practice boundaries. All of these fundamentals-when used appropriately, provide the groundwork BEST for healing. My faith adds a necessary layer of unique impartiality to my role. This detail is important to acknowledge as my spiritual beliefs overlap with a special awareness that I believe transcends the collective, mind, body and soul. Using a structure of standard practice with most appropriate evidence-based techniques, only licensed psychotherapists possess the exclusive legal responsibility and ethical liability to provide safe, legitimate mental healthcare.
