Alia Luqman

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to mental health. I hold licenses in the state of California and the state of New Jersey. I hold an undergraduate degree from Columbia University and a Master of Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley. Psychotherapy and building a trusting and non-judgmental relationship with my patients is such fulfilling and important work. I believe that each person I work with is capable of experiencing happiness, self love and peace. I have worked in the field of Social Work for over 14 years, assisting individuals and families to overcome and manage traumas from abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, suicide, living in the foster care system and incarceration. I have worked more specifically doing counseling and psychotherapy for 7 years. My counseling style is warm, empathic and client-centered. I have worked with patients of all ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, races and cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. I have helped patients with a broad range of concerns including: stress, depression, anxiety, sexuality, communication improvement, family conflict, parenting issues, adoption and foster care, self esteem and interpersonal relationship issues. I am committed to helping you find a path towards reaching your goals, listening without judgment, leading with kindness, respect and dignity.
