At Lindsay’s Chatterbox, we understand that it can be difficult to determine whether or not your child needs speech therapy. If you have any concerns that your child may be having difficulty with social communication, we recommend seeking out professional help. Speech therapy can help children with autism develop communication skills such as responding to questions, changing conversation topics, understanding body language, and more. Speech therapy is an important part of early intervention for autistic children and can be beneficial in teaching language and communication skills during the critical period for language development. If you notice that your child is struggling with speaking, such as being very quiet, saying only a few words, or not speaking at all, consider seeking out speech therapy. At Lindsay’s Chatterbox, we understand that speech therapy has the potential to help your child in many ways. Our speech therapists specialize in helping children with nonverbal skills, forming speech in a clearer way, communicating thoughts and feelings, understanding and responding to questions, discerning facial expressions and body language, and feeding and swallowing.
