The Alene Dunlap Smith Garden, located in the El Presidio National Register Historic District in Tucson, is a mini park and sculpture garden dedicated to Alene Dunlap Smith (1920-1980), a historic preservationist, neighborhood conservationist, and community leader. Designed in 1985 by acclaimed sculptor and public artist Barbara Grygutis, the garden serves as a reminder of Alene Dunlap Smith’s contributions to Tucson’s history as the founder of the city’s first historic district. Visitors can take a peaceful stroll through the garden and admire the sculptures while learning about the legacy of Alene Dunlap Smith.
