At Appalachian Independence Center (AIC) we strive to provide services and support to people with disabilities in order to help them gain independence and access community resources. We believe in the power of the Independent Living Movement to bring together people with disabilities and advocate for equal opportunities. Our philosophy is rooted in the principle of consumer control, recognizing that people with disabilities are the best experts on their own needs and should be given the opportunity to decide how they live, work, and participate in their communities. Founded in 1988, AIC is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities and advocating for their rights.
